This GoFundMe has been created with the approval and on behalf of Michael Colmant’s Family:
Losing a loved one is a nightmare no one ever wants to experience. This nightmare became a reality for Michael Colmant’s family on April 11, 2021, when he was the victim of a fatal hit and run while cycling.
Mike is and always will be an incredible and supportive dad, loving grandpa, best friend, and so much more. Mike always put his family first and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was incredibly hard-working, and an extremely respected deputy director at King County International Airport-Boeing Field for over 20 years. Mike was also an avid runner, cyclist, and triathlon/marathon participant. He also loved to travel to Hawaii with his family and spend quality time with his loved ones as often as he could. He was a kind and compassionate individual who was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Now, Mike’s loved ones are left with a gaping hole in their hearts and lives due to the selfish and cowardly action of a stranger. Instead of being allowed time to grieve their enormous and devastating loss, Mike’s family is forced to pay numerous bills and sort out many tasks in order to deal with his passing. On top of this already devastating situation, COVID-19 has had its own implications. Mike’s family had to fight and advocate for themselves to just cross the border and see Mike and sort his belongings. On top of this, it has proved increasingly difficult to get Mike back over to Canada-his true home. Any donations-big or small are cherished and gratefully appreciated during this difficult time.
