On November 4, 2023 Michael’s life was changed forever. On his last motorcycle ride of the season, an oncoming driver crossed the double yellow lines and struck him on his motorcycle; shattering his left leg and his life. He has been in the hospital since that date and has endured multiple surgeries and excruciating pain in an attempt to save his left leg. He was transferred to Boston for a second opinion the week before Christmas where he learned the leg was not able to be saved. He will be undergoing a mid thigh amputation of his left leg. He will have a long road to recovery and will have to relearn how to walk again, first with crutches and then with a prosthesis. He will no longer be able to work and will have to give up his apartment on the fourth floor. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will help alleviate medical bills he has accumulated as insurance does not cover all of the costs.
