Michael Carr's Fearless Fight
Donation protected
12 years ago, God gave us a gift of an angel for us to love, laugh with, and learn from. His name was Michael Carr Jr. He was the first of three boys. Strong willed, tough Frankie was next followed by little sweet Joey. Their parents are Michael and Gia Carr- two of the best people to ever walk into my life.
The Carr family is beautiful, strong, and willing to do anything for anyone at any time. Life was great, but unfortunately, often in life obstacles do arise. Obstacles that will challenge even the strongest of foundations.
In October 2015 Michael was diagnosed with a brain tumor known as medullablastoma. It was cancerous and treatment began. For the first time in my life, I encountered true courage and resilience right in front of my eyes. It was coming from 6-year-old, Michael. This sweet boy took everything in stride. We were all concerned about him, but he was always positive, always making us laugh, and always the center of our attention. The fight was on and I knew he was going to beat Cancer.
In Jan 2017 it was beat- a tough battle won by a 6-year-old warrior. Michael was back on his feet and ready to take on the rest of his life.
In Oct 2017 the Cancer came back again, and he fought again-just as hard as he fought the first time around.
This fight would go back and forth for the next 3 1/2 years. Signs of hope, no inkling of struggle, and again RESILIENCE. But even like some of our make-believe heroes like “Rocky” even get tired.
Unfortunately, Michael lost his last fight on April 1st, 2021. He passed away peacefully at home with his family. His beautiful Mother and Father were there by his side just the same as they were with his treatments throughout the years.
Unfortunately, God wanted him back. I know he would have kept fighting but he was too courageous, too kind, and too pure to be in this world anymore.
Michael meant the world to me, just as the Carr family does. It is clear how many lives Michael has touched as people continue to reach out to me to ask what they can do. There is nothing that can take the pain away but setting up this page seemed like a small start to helping the Carr family. They will use the money any way they see fit, for Michael’s memorial, his foundation or for a long-deserved vacation from these tough battles, .
I do not know what to do except be there for my best friends and express how important they are and what this little 12-year-old warrior meant to me.
Michael and the Carr Family mean the world to me and my family. I am truly a better, stronger man because of a 12-year-old boy that has always melted my heart with sweetness, positivity and RESILIENCE…
He was the ROCKY in my life.
Uncle Rich loves you too bud…
