Many of you have been asking about Mike, and we want to share the truth of his journey. Mike is a fighter in every sense of the word. What started as Influenza B quickly escalated into a perfect storm—a battle with Strep, a blood infection, sepsis, severe pneumonia, and multiple organ failure.

It has been an incredibly heavy road, but Mike is so, so brave. We are celebrating the 'little wins' every single day.

Mike is now awake, and off the ventilator. He is now eating and drinking and doing dialysis three times a week to jump start his kidneys. After everything his body has been through, seeing him reach these milestones feels like a miracle. He continues to show us just how brave and strong he is. We still have a long road of recovery ahead of us, but the opening in the woods is getting wider every day.

With that being said we are trying to ease some of the financial stress that goes along with a loved one when they’re sick. Jess will not be able to work for a while, and with Mike recovering, she’ll be taking him back and forth to dialysis and doctors appointments and providing 24 hr care for him until he gets back on his feet. Anybody that knows Mike, knows he’d give you the shirt off his back, and he’s always there to help and encourage you. So here’s a chance to show some love to him and his family.
