Bury’s Fight To Healing
Spende geschützt
From Calen today;
There is no change in Michael’s condition. If anything, he is weaker in his arms and hands. Which makes doing pretty much anything, very difficult. He can move his arms, but isn’t able to hold things (even his phone) very well. He can pull his legs up to him while laying down. But that’s pretty much it. I have to pull his legs out for him or move his feet if he’s trying to sit up. He literally depends on me 100%. As difficult as that is for him, he’s staying pretty positive and communicating with me with what he needs! Which helps me out tremendously! He is constantly telling me “thank you” and “sorry” and every night he tells me I’m amazing for all that I’m doing. If he only knew that, that is my strength. That is what gets me through all of this is knowing that he feels taken care of and that I can make him as comfortable as possible until he’s healed. Like I’ve said before, I will do all of this EVERYDAY for the rest of my life if I had too, just to have him by my side. But, he will get better. He will.
Guillain Barre Syndrome is an autoimmune disorder where his immune system attacks his nerves and as it progresses, causes paralysis. Usually GBS progresses quickly. Days, weeks and at most 4 weeks to reach their weakest point. And then it plateaus for days, weeks and even months. And then recovery begins, which again could take days, weeks, months and even years to recover completely. Usually 6-12 months for him to walk unassisted again. So, it will just take time for his body to heal. But he’ll get there! I’m just thankful he’s here! We can handle anything and everything as long as he’s here.
There are some amazing people in our lives! And we’re so very thankful for each and every one of you. CB❤️
