Hi, I am Lisa Buck and I am Michael's wife of nearly 30 years. As many know during the last week of March 2023, Mike suffered a devastating hand injury to his right hand caused by a table saw. The saw cut through his palm starting from his index finger cutting through the knuckles to his pinky, essentially cutting his hand in two. He underwent an 8+ hour emergency surgery to "re-implant" his fingers to his palm. They had to rebuild all tendons, ligaments, veins, arteries, and nerves and install some pins to hold his fingers together.

Surprisingly enough, he has a fairly good chance of gaining most of his hand function back, although the road to recovery will take 6 months to a year and he is unable to drive for 3 months. While we have good insurance to cover most of the medical bills and occupational therapy sessions, he is unable to work for at least 6 months. Because he is self-employed, he doesn't qualify for any temporary state disability and he is not disabled enough to qualify for any federal help.

Mike is a devoted husband and father, a son, a brother and a friend to many. He is always there to lend a hand to others in need of help. He is an active person who loves cooking for friends and family, is an avid sewer/kilt maker and also loves to raise chickens for eggs and gardens to produce food for our family.

Please, we are asking for any monetary help, no matter how small so that we can focus on his recovery. In addition to household expenses, he has monthly re-occurring business expenses and taxes that are owed regardless of whether he is working or not just to maintain the active status of his contractor's license and business.
