On Saturday November 8th Mike went to the Marion IL emergency room for what he thought was complications from pneumonia. He was soon informed it was not the case and was transferred to 2 more hospitals for congestive heart failure and is now in a St. Louis hospital receiving around the clock care.
His heart function on either side of his heart are roughly about 10%, and someone of his age should be functioning at least 75%. Because of this he has massive blood clots in his heart. He is very weak but fighting hard every minute. Right now the course of action is to keep him on blood thinners to help dissolve and prevent his blood clots. His doctors are watching closely and hoping in the meantime that his clots don't break away, which would cause more problems. Hopefully in a couple of days we will have news that the blood thinners are doing their job.
Any funds that are raised will help ease the worry and financial burden that Mike has during this time. It will also help fund his recovery time as it will be a long and slow process.
