My dad has never been sick a day in his life. We’re in shock. Stage 4 colon cancer? 2 weeks to live without treatment? This is never something we thought we’d be facing, especially with my dad. If you know him, you think of words like; big, tall, strong, healthy. (Not to mention; kind, gentle, loving, steady, generous) You definitely don’t think; cancer, sick, terminal, minimal days. He’s decided to treat in Mexico-Simply because it offers the most hope and best outcomes. Because, even with treatment that’s available in the states, he’s been given only a year or possibly two. Also, chemo can be brutal, he’s seen it. He’s been a hospice chaplain and pastor for the last 30 years combined. Fighting through the spiritual and emotional battles bedside with those facing similar diagnoses. He’s witnessed all too often the brutality of chemo and doesn’t want to spend what little time he may have left, too sick to enjoy his family and ministry. Mike’s whole life is about service to others. Whether it’s his patients, congregation, or his family- he never puts himself first. Treatment in Mexico offers HOPE. We’re asking for your help. It’s an emergency. My sister and I are doing everything we can, but it’s just not enough. With your generous help, he’ll have a better chance to heal without distraction and continue in the work, calling and with the family that he loves so much. Anything helps. Thank you so very much!
