Michael Benites’s Medical Expenses

On Tuesday June 15, 2021 Mike went to Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, Ca for an infection in his toe. Mike was told that his toe was so infected and the infection was spreading quickly that had he waited another week it would have gone sepsis and he could have died. Unfortunately the toe was so bad that the only thing they could do was amputate! He was also told that the toe infection was due to his blood sugars being so high! Mike had no idea that he was a Type ll diabetic until then. 

Mike was admitted Tuesday and Wednesday morning he went into surgery to remove the big toe. Unfortunately, the Surgeon was unable to close the wound due to the severity of the infection. On Sunday the doctor will check to see if the infection is still spreading. If so, they will have to go back to OR to remove more of the foot. Mike has a long road to recovery and isn’t able to work and with medical bills piling up and his normal day to day expenses we are asking friends, family and our community to please share this post and if you are able to donate any amount would be greatly appreciated!
