Our sweet Michael unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, August 9th. Michael was a son, brother, uncle and nephew, also a friend to all who knew him. If you knew michael, you knew he had a love for life which was evident by his infectious smile and laugh. Michael was also a lover of food and restaurants, music, biking, AA, his family and all his people that surrounded each of those communities. His passing has left a giant hole in the hearts of his loved ones. Michael will be missed forever.
Since his passing was so unexpected we hope to help raise funds to ease the burden of the cost of his funeral for his family.
In addition to helping with the cost of the memorial service the family is setting up a foundation in Michael's name that would help sponsor others that cannot afford a bed in a detox center, treatment program or sober living. Like Michael, so many people have been effected by the uprising use of fentanyl and it has been utterly devastating. Michael fought so hard against it and the Ayers family is extremely passionate about advocating for those who don't have the privilege of a supportive family or anyone to help come alongside them in this fight. If you have ever walked this journey or along side someone battling an addiction illness you know that affording a bed can be a major hurdle and can truly be the deciding factor on a successful recovery. Ultimately, Michael waited two months to get a bed in a facility. Our goal is to help alleviate this burden.
Michael's memorial service will be held on Saturday 8/27 and the family has asked that in lieu of flowers please donate to this fund so that they can jumpstart the foundation in Michaels name.
more information to come on future events that will include a memorial bike ride on August the 28th.
Thank you in advance for all the support
