I am starting this for the family of Michael "Pirate" Atkinson who was shot to death in his home early Saturday morning 10/24/2020.  There is a suspect in custody, currently charged with murder. Michael lived in La Mesa , Ca. most of his life then moved to Colorado to work in the oil fields in 2014. Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest.  He was so proud that he was able to buy a home in Arvada and loved his dogs like children!  I am starting this page to help with some of the costs his family will incur going back and forth to Colorado in the upcoming months, as well as his cremation expenses.
