Hello! My name is Michael Maass and I have come to GoFundMe as a last resort for my wife. Her name is Moira and she has been battling Type 1 Diabetes for 16 years. This year, her body has started to change in drastic ways due to this disease. The blood vessels in her eyes have been exploding and as of February of this year, the vessels have pulled her retina from her left eye. Leaving her in pain and unable to see clearly from that eye. We got a credit card to pay for the surgeon to fix her eye and remove the dead blood vessels in May. The surgery was a success and we have been working hard to pay it off. However, another medical bill has welcomed itself onto our door step 2 months after the surgery that we can’t afford. We need help. There are still post op appointments and eye shots that she needs to keep her right eye at 100% and her left where it is at. We both work full time jobs and can hardly afford our regular monthly payments until we get out from under all of our medical bills. 1/3 of my pay goes to our insurance that didn’t help cover as much as you would think.
