Our Story
In November 2024, 17 year old Michael Angland had a serious accident at Moor Park Train station where he went into a cardiac arrest. His friends performed CPR for 18 minutes unaided before The Essex and herts air ambulance arrived at the scene incredibly quickly and helped stabilise Michael before transporting him to hospital where he went on to make a full recovery after some time in intensive care at St Marys Paddington.
Now, just over a year later, Michael and his brother Liam are taking on the 2026 London Marathon, raising vital funds for the charity that saved his life.
The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance receives no direct government funding and relies entirely on donations to keep saving lives across the region. Every contribution, big or small, helps them continue their work when every second counts.
After everything they did for Michael, running this marathon is the very least that we could do to give something back.
Please donate and support their journey, this cause truly means the world to them and us.
