Michael and Brenda Chavers' Journey to Baby
Donation protected
I am creating this gofundme to raise funds for my sister in law, Brenda, and brother in law, Michael. They will be starting IVF soon and I hope to help ease some of the financial burden.
If you know Michael and Brenda, then you already know they are one of the kindest, most loving couples to ever walk the face of the earth.
They are two of the hardest workers I know, both inside and outside of the home. Michael works as a manager at bowling alley/sports bar and is currently going through training and testing to become a Police Officer.
Brenda is a bank teller who spends her free time tending to beautiful herb and vegetable garden, crafting and creating, and working on home improvement projects. Michael is quite the handyman and has completed a number of renovations in their house. Brenda also has an eye for interior decorating. Together, they have created a beautiful home for their family. They even rescued their sweet, playful pup, Daisy. All that's left now is to grow their family and fill up their home with children.
Michael and Brenda have always been kind and generous. They are two of the most giving people I've ever known, always lending a hand wherever it's needed. They share the fruits of their labor, gifting homegrown herbs and vegetables to friends and family. They always go above and beyond when it comes to hosting and hospitality and have opened up their home time and time again. They also spend their time caring for a disabled family member. They are loved by all who know them, especially by their nieces and nephews who adore them. I cannot think of a more deserving couple than Michael and Brenda.

Michael and Brenda met Freshman year in High School. They have been together for 15 years and celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary on June 11th, 2021. They have been trying to conceive their first baby since their honeymoon, going on 5 years now.
Mike and Brenda took their next steps forward on their journey to baby, as they've completed infertility testing and treatments in 2020. Since February 2020, Brenda has endured multiple treatments, taken medications, some with awful side effects, and painful shots. Her body has already been through so much, not to mention the emotional toll all of this has taken.

Brenda was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarion Syndrome (PCOS) and with one blocked fallopian tube. Her OB told them they had a chance at conceiving through less invasive options and approved them for Intrauterine Insemination (IUI).
When their last IUI cycle failed, Brenda found a different doctor through a fertility clinic to get a second opinion. This doctor found the reasons why none of the past fertility treatments were working. You can imagine the heartbreak and frustration they must have been feeling when their new doctor explained to them that not one, but BOTH Brenda's fallopian tubes are blocked. This means that the past year of treatments, the ups and downs of getting their hopes up only to be crushed, the painful shots and difficult medications, the time, effort, and money that was spent over the past year was all for nothing.

He explained that their only option is In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) and that it would be impossible for them to conceive any other way. Michael and Brenda have the full and complete support of their loved ones to move forward with IVF and they have made the decision to do so. Unfortunately, before they can move forward, Brenda needs to have surgery to have both her fallopian tubes removed and an Endometrial Ablation procedure to prepare her uterus for pregnancy.
One round of IVF costs $15,000 and that is just the beginning. They will also be paying out of pocket for her surgery, which is thousands of dollars.
And the IVF medications alone cost $7,000. The clinic is over 50 miles away from where they live, so gas money and time off of work also need to be considered. I created this GoFundMe in the hopes to help cover the cost of medications, as well as a little extra to go toward any unforseen expenses, medical bills, and travel expenses. Insurance doesn't cover a single penny of IVF.
So, that's the bad news.
The good news is her doctor is hopeful that IVF will be successful and finally bring them the one thing they want most in the world: their precious baby. Brenda already has the heart of a mother. Her heart is full of unconditional love for her future babies. She is willing to sacrifice her own comfort, time, money, for just a chance to carry and deliver her babies. The journey ahead won't be easy, but baby Chavers is worth it all.

It's true, what they say: It takes a village to raise a child. And it takes a village to support those who are trying to conceive.
Michael and Brenda, you and your future children are so loved! We want you to know you are not alone. To travel the road of infertility may feel lonely at times, but you are surrounded by an entire community of people who love you. Your support system is strong and we will be here for you every step of the way.
To the person reading this, please join me in supporting them however you may feel led. If you have the means, please donate what you can so we can help take just a fraction of the financial burden off their shoulders. Whether you can or can't offer financial support, I ask that you please share their story and this GoFundMe. And please keep them in your prayers as well.
Thank you so much for taking the time to hear Michael and Brenda's story. We are deeply grateful for you and we appreciate your support!
