Micaylyn Darby medical expenses

Micaylyn Darby was diagnosed recently with a large pituitary tumor that has been slowly growing for years. While you would most likely never know it because she is always smiling and trying to live her life to the fullest, she has suffered with misdiagnosed daily "migraine" headaches and many other health issues as a result of this tumor. Thankfully, a doctor in Columbia (where Micaylyn lives and works) ordered an MRI and some other tests and found the culprit in December. Since finding out she has a brain tumor, she has had additional referrals to multiple endocrinologists, an ophthalmologist (the tumor is right next to her optic nerve), an Ear Nose & Throat specialist, and a neurosurgeon. Micaylyn will be having the tumor removed in upcoming weeks by a team of surgeons (neurosurgeon & ENT Specialist/Surgeon) working together. Often, these tumors are not cancerous, but we will know more once it is biopsied after removal. After surgery, she will be in ICU under close supervision because her pituitary gland will be 'in shock' after the surgery so she will have to be closely monitored to ensure her body functions controlled by the pituitary gland are able to work again after the removal of the tumor. We know she is in the best hands--her neurosurgeon is the same doctor who did brain surgery on her Great Aunt Clara years ago!

Many have reached out to Micaylyn and her family to see how they can help. What Micaylyn needs most is prayer for a successful surgery and recovery! She has dealt with pain caused by this tumor for many years. We are asking for prayers for not only Micaylyn, but also for her doctors and medical team as they work through the various complications brain surgery can present.
