In memory of Micah Stephenson

My name is Kala Hale and I am a close friend of Nina Stephenson.

Sadly Nina's husband, Micah, took his own life on 20th April 2024 at only 28 years old. Unfortunately Micah did not leave a will or any funeral plans and this was so sudden. As a result the cost of the funeral has been left to Nina, Nina has been struggling with the death of her husband and dealing with the shock and loss of his passing and as a result of this she has not been working. Nina is self employed and has been struggling to cover the costs of the funeral and other expenses she is now left with.

In addition to this, since Nina is self-employed she is entitled to very little help from the government at a time like this. She is also not entitled to any compassionate leave or similar pay when she needs the time off. This means when she is off work she has no money coming in at all.

Unfortunately, Nina is now the sole payer of her bills, which were previously split with Micah, and she has also been left with debt to pay off on his behalf. Any monies donated will go towards funeral costs and helping Nina with bills and to take the time she needs to grieve while not working and to help support her in this most saddened time of her life.

Watching Nina deal with her husband's loss has been utterly heart breaking, seeing her try and come to work, sitting in her car crying and try and pull herself together to come in to work because she has no other choice has been truly inspiring to me and I want to do everything I can to help her in any way I can. I know money is tight with everyone at the moment, but please if anyone can spare some money to help out such an amazing, strong woman. I will be forever grateful of this kind gesture.
