Hi, I’m Valeska, Micah’s aunt and I need your help.

There’s no describing the pain you feel when someone close to you finds out they have a genetic disease, let alone when it’s your son. My sister’s family had the unfortunate experience of finding out their sweet son, Micah, has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, or DMD.

As a mama myself, I can’t imagine the roller coaster of emotions that Kayleigh and Jake are experiencing. Waiting for test results, figuring out how, when and what to tell Micah’s older siblings, not knowing how to help your baby - so many emotions of helplessness, anger, sadness and frustration mixed with so many tears.

That’s when God took over. My sister went to her church who connected her to a doctor who has experience for 3 decades with people that have Micah’s condition!

Through God, we have hope. A path was made for us to follow to help Micah live the best life he can.

Now that the genetic test results came back confirming Micah’s condition, I am here to share Micah’s story and ask for help. I hope to get help financially for my sister’s family so they can focus on getting the best help for Micah man.
