Hi everyone, this is Brittany and Kate. We are friends of Marissa, Mia's mom. We have created this Go Fund Me to help lighten the burden that has been placed upon Marissa and Mia.

On April 10, 2026, Mia had a brain tumor removed at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Since the tumor removal, Mia has remained in the ICU at the University of Iowa.

On April 13, 2026, Marissa received the heartbreaking news that Mia's tumor is cancerous. After further testing, doctors determined it to be a very rare form of cancer. Because of how uncommon this diagnosis is, Mia is now facing an even more difficult and uncertain battle.

On April 23, 2026, Mia had a shunt placed in her brain to relieve built up fluid. Since the shunt placement, Mia has been in better spirits.

In the coming days/weeks, Mia will be moved to the cancer floor at the University of Iowa, and then transferred to Mayo Clinic, where she will undergo daily radiation for 6-8 weeks.
