Hi my name is Jenette and for many years Colleen has been there for me and everyone else who needs her so it's my turn to try and help and raise funds for her daughter. She isn't the type of person to ask for help, so I reaching out asking everyone to help. She is a hard worker and has raised her kids as a single mom and works two jobs and whatever she has to do to give her kids the best life possible. Mia was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 6. Her mom did everything in her power to stop progression, physical therapy, Schroth therapy, chiropractors, bracing and orthopedic surgeons but no matter what exercise or things her mom did, Mia scoliosis still continued to progress to the point it went from 60-degree curve to 93-degree curve and she is having issues with back pain and daily activities. The orthopedic surgeon recommended a new surgery for Mia that will cost $140,000. Colleen has medical insurance but due to her father having colon cancer in June of this year; she took some of her family leave off in the summer to help him and be with him in the hospital and find the right care for him. Mia will have to be in the hospital for 7-10 days in the ICU and her mom doesn't want to leave her side so I am asking anyone who knows Mia and has seen her struggle with this nasty disease help so her mom can take the couple of extra weeks off with her daughter to spend time with her and be there for her recovery without having to worry about money for these 6 weeks until she goes back to work. The medical portion will be another issue she will have to deal with down the road but asking for everyone's prayers and a little help from her friends and the community. Colleen donates and does the meal train for numerous families, so now I would love to help her with this. Mia deserves a good future without having to hide behind clothes because she is so self-conscious.
