Mia's Recovery: Please Help Her Get to the Finish Line
Thank you to all of Mia's Donor Angels for all your support and generous donations. Some of you suggested that I start a different GFM to cover the rest of the out of pocket expenses. Your donations were the reason Mia is still here and why she didn't lose her leg. I can't thank you enough!!
Mia is almost out of the woods on her recovery. She is making great progress, especially with all the helpful suggestions and your thoughts and prayers, but her care regimen is still extremely rigorous and expensive. She still has to go to VSC or VCA for bandage changes every two days; I have to give her two different very strong antibiotics and injections along with three other meds 3x a day at home, and regularly change her bandages because the ones from the vet rarely last a full day. All of the medical supplies at home to do that are all out of pocket because they are not from the vet.
I'm hoping we are on the tail end of things and need just to keep her progress on track and need help with the estimated remaining costs, as the out of pocket expenses have exceeded the donations. GFM takes part of the donations in fees and I also have to pay taxes on the donations, so we are now in the red. I am optimistic that she is in the homestretch
Some of the donations were also used for her non-veterinary recovery care, based on the knowledge and recommendations many of you shared with me, such as PEMF mats to accelerate healing, dog stroller for when it is difficult for her to walk to get to and from the car and vet, homeopathic treatments, support harness, and she is getting a surgical suit (and a few special treats from her supporters, of course!).
I will continue to post her progress on FB and notice of updates on IG and here. Mia and I are very grateful for all your continued support and the love you send. Please help is get to the finish line by keeping her story alive by sharing and posting and reposting. Here is the public link to the original FB post that you can share or if you are a new Donor Angel and aren't familiar with her story:

All other posts are only visible to friends, so if you are one of Mia's Angel Donors who can't see the other posts and would like to, please send me a friend request and a message saying you are "Mia's Donor Angel ."
Also, please keep looking for the dogs who attacked Mia and their owners. Please let us know of any leads and also call LCAS and reference case A24-094631. If we find them and can hold them accountable, I plan to start a fund in honor of Mia to help other pets in need whose stories go unnoticed and who aren't as fortunate to have the support and generosity that Mia has had. If we are successful in finding justice for Mia, will put any money recovered from them after expenses and any unused donations in to start the fund to pay the kindness we received forward.
To avoid fees and donate directly, you can donate via Venmo (@CJN2021), as a few of you have done, or you can donate directly to the vet (please contact me and I can give you the information). Thank you all again for your kindness! ❤️ I appreciate you!
