Hello there! My name is Mia Mineer, and I am the Drum Major for Sherwood High School's marching band program! In March, for my senior-year spring break, the marching band has been given the amazing opportunity to go to Disney Land, and along with that- come the expenses. During this trip, there will be once in a life time opportunities to get involved with recording sessions, dance workshops, parade marching, and of course, the chance to have fun in the Disney Park itself. I am currently a full time student, with a part time job. Along with that, college is right around the corner, and although I am working as hard as I can to be able to embrace this opportunity, money has been a struggle recently for me and my family. I want to do everything in my power to ensure that my parents don't have to pay a dime- They have always supported me in every choice, whether that be academically or with band- and I don't want them to ever have to spend more money then they need to on me, as we have a huge family with other personal expenses.

I have the hopes to raise my own money for this band trip. Along with this GoFundMe, I have been collecting cans/bottles, continued to work whenever I can, and participated in fundraisers. I appreciate any and all donations, and can confidently ensure that any extra money will be donated to other kids in the program who are in need of financial assistance. It is my dream to be able to go on this trip, as well as with helping others along the way. The band program is such an important part of my life- the community, the competitions, and the art, have made me who I am today- and this trip would be the perfect note to end this chapter of my high school marching band career.
