Mia's India Trip

Hi, my name is Mia Rumps and I will be a senior at Addison Trail HIgh School. Since the summer going into my freshman year I have participated in medical programs. I started with EXPLO ortho and sports medicine at Wellesley College in Boston. I fell in love spending my summers immersed in the medical field. The next summer I participated in the Nation Student Leadership conference hosted at Northwestern. Last summer I participated in the Future Medical Leaders conference in Boston. Through that program I have the opportunity to travel to India this summer for the Ultimate Med Internship sponsored by Youth Futures International. While in India I will be able to learn about many fields of medicine through following doctors and interacting with patients. This program is so different due to the fact that patient interaction is allowed. It makes the program a once in a lifetime opportunity. In the future I want to be an orthopedic surgeon and help injured athletes get back to their full potential. I also want to visit third world countries and assist them medically in any way possible. The whole experience in India will prepare me for my future in the medical field by giving me a new perspective on medicine, sickness, and the healing process. Your donation will help cover tuition, airfare, and other expenses. It will also assist me in my journey to become a doctor so I can give back to all those who gave to me and to assist those in other countries in need of medical attention. Thank you for your help!
