My name is Mia, and I am a single mother to two amazing children who are my entire world. Every day, I wake up knowing that I am their provider, their protector, and their example. I take care of everything on my own — food, rent, bills, school needs, and all the everyday expenses that come with raising children. There is no backup plan. It’s just us.

Despite the challenges, I made a promise to myself and to my children: I would build a better future for us.

That promise led me to pursue nursing school. Becoming a nurse isn’t just a career choice for me — it’s a calling. I want to serve others with compassion, integrity, and skill. I want to be someone who shows up for patients during their most vulnerable moments. Most importantly, I want to show my children what perseverance looks like.

Right now, I am just four months away from completing nursing school. Four months away from walking across that stage. Four months away from securing a stable, meaningful career that will change our lives.

But I am facing one of the hardest seasons of this journey. Although I am a firm believer in Christ and that I can do all things for it is He that strengthens me. Balancing school, clinical hours, parenting, and full financial responsibility has taken a toll. The stress of making sure rent is paid while studying for exams. The mental exhaustion of trying to stay strong for my children when I feel overwhelmed. The emotional weight of doing this without a strong support system. It has led me to step out on faith.

To complete my program in June, it will cost $6,000. This covers tuition, fees, and the remaining costs required to graduate. Without it, everything I’ve worked for is at risk.

It would help launch a career where I will give back to the community and care for others the way I have always cared for my own family and friends.
