Mia’s fight for her life- please help bring Mia home!

Hi everyone. My name is Ashley, and my sweet Mia girl is my whole world. I’ve had her since she was only 7 weeks old, and she will be 7 on March 3rd. On Friday, January 23rd, Mia started acting very strange and would vomit small amounts of bile here and there. I just figured she had a stomach bug, but within an hour she vomited 6 times and I rushed her in to see her doctor. She was given some nausea medication and a couple antibiotics for what the doctor thought was pancreatitis. Labs confirmed elevated liver enzymes the following day for pancreatitis. She seemed like she was on the mend.

Fast forward to Friday, January 27th, Mia was admitted into the Emergency Clinic by my house. I noticed her eyes were slightly jaundice and I just had a gut feeling she needed to be seen, and unfortunately I was right.

Since that day, she has undergone some of the most strenuous and extremely exhausting procedures. She has had an unbelievable amount of constant day and night medical care, daily bloodwork drawn, constant medications and fluids, a tube that goes into her belly through her nose because she’s refusing to eat and she needs nutrients.

She has had 2 fine needle aspirations done to her liver and gall bladder. She has had bile fluid from her stomach drained and cultured. While she was having the procedure for her gall bladder biopsy done, her bowel was poked. She ended up having to get an abdominal wash done for the bowel peritonitis. She has undergone major surgery to have a liver biopsy done and to have an emergent cholecystectomy done- aka gall bladder removal. She has significant acute pancreatitis.
She has not been eating and we are at the point where we may need to place a tube into her neck to get food in her. I pray it doesn’t come to that.

She is currently in the ICU at a hospital close to home, being well taken care of with supportive care but I am unfortunately at my limit now. I have reached $20,000 in bills for her so far and she is still not out of the woods. I know it is nobody’s responsibility but my own to take care of my sweet girl, and I wouldn’t be asking for help if it wasn’t needed. I am completed maxed out for trying to save her life, and my insurance only covers $5,000 which I have already used up.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated from the bottom of my heart. There are no words, truly. Thank you to all!
