Hello all,
My name is Mia Junious- Robinson and I'm an undergrad student studying public health at Georgia State University. My goal for my last year of undergrad was to be more involved on campus. In this journey, I became a part of the undergrad public health club where I do various community service projects and I'm currently a prospect of the National Council of negro women. One of my professors this semester is the director of a study abroad program in Ghana, Africa, and invited me to attend an informational event to learn more. Instantly I knew that I wanted to be a part of their mission.
I was recently accepted into the program and will travel abroad to Accra, Ghana, and Kumasi, Ghana ( Africa). The program is three weeks and I'll be leaving June 2025.
Throughout this program, I will have the opportunity to take part in academic courses, learn about Ghana's rich culture, try new foods, serve the community, and so much more. As someone who truly loves science and anything healthcare related, I can't wait to be a part of something larger than myself and giving back to those In need. I'm truly excited to learn more about emerging diseases, the standing of HIV in the community, and women's health. Studying Ghana's history and immersing myself in how Ghanaians live is truly a dream.
I am extremely grateful for this chance to learn, grow, and become an even more well-rounded individual academically and personally. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. The funding will go towards the program tuition, housing, excursions, traveling expenses, and meal stipend:
Thank you for all your support!
