Mia’s 5K Challenge: Helping Other Children Like Her

Dear friends, family, and generous supporters,

I am excited to share that my brave and inspiring 3.5-year-old daughter, Mia, is taking on a big challenge to raise money for an incredible cause—Wipe Away Those Tears. This wonderful charity has been instrumental in helping children with disabilities like Mia, and now, she wants to give back in the most special way she can.

Mia has spastic diplegic cerebral palsy, a condition that affects her muscles and motor control, making it difficult for her to move freely. Despite this, Mia is full of joy and has an incredible determination to push herself beyond her limits. Thanks to Wipe Away Those Tears, Mia received a specialised trike that has given her the ability to experience the freedom and joy of riding a bike, something that once felt impossible.

In an effort to show her gratitude and help other children who need support, Mia has set an ambitious goal: to ride 5 kilometres on her trike and raise money to help fund more equipment and services for children with disabilities.

About Wipe Away Those Tears:

Wipe Away Those Tears is a charity dedicated to granting wishes and bringing a sparkle into the lives of terminally or seriously ill children in Essex. Their mission is to bring moments of happiness to children and families facing the unimaginable, when there seems to be no hope left. Although they have no cures to offer, the charity’s team strives to make life a little brighter for these very special children, no matter how big or small the wish.

What makes Wipe Away Those Tears even more incredible is that 100% of the money raised goes directly to helping the children. There are no overheads or administration costs, so every penny you donate will go directly to supporting these children in need. Whether it’s a wish for a special experience, essential equipment, or emotional support for families, Wipe Away Those Tears is there to make a difference.

While some wishes may end in sadness, especially given the challenging circumstances, the charity's goal is to wipe away those tears and bring a bit of joy and sparkle into their lives during desperate times.

How You Can Help:

Mia’s goal is to ride 5K and raise money for Wipe Away Those Tears, a charity that provides life-changing support for children with serious illnesses or disabilities. We are asking for your support as she takes on this challenge to make a real difference in the lives of other children.

Funds raised will go directly to Wipe Away Those Tears to support:

• Granting wishes for terminally or seriously ill children in Essex.

• Specialised equipment for children with disabilities.

• Therapies and treatment programs to help improve mobility and independence.

• Emotional support for families facing similar challenges.

How Mia is Doing It:

Mia is determined to ride 5K on her trike to raise awareness and funds for this amazing cause. The 5K will be over a period of weeks.  Every donation, no matter the size, will make a huge impact and help more children experience the support and resources they need to thrive.
