The dance community in Miami has created and provided opportunities for dancers to perform along side some of most elite artists in the world.
However, the recent uncertainty in our lives has given us a question to answer daily... When will dancers have the opportunity to perform on worldwide stages again? Having these thoughts and the uneasiness of the times, creates an opportunity for us as a community to help our Miami dance family.
As Miami-native choreographers and being a part of this industry for many years, we feel a sense of responsibility in making an effort to provide for dancers who don’t know when they are going to be able to display their passion again on that stage! Alongside local industry professionals, our goal is to raise funds and assist these incredible individuals, as we patiently wait until the day they can dance again and adjust to this “new normal”.
Due to the spread of COVID-19 and the impact it has had on our society, events including concerts, videos, commercials, films etc. have all been cancelled with no future dates secured, leaving dancers without a steady paycheck.
As dancers, we choose this profession because we love the art, we love the stage, but more importantly because it is our passion. The world is going through a very tough time, affecting so many, but the entertainment industry is one that we have all counted and depended on to bring us joy and positive energy, so let us aim to support the heart of that: our dancers.
