Mia's Medical Bills
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Our sweet Mia has been very sick for the last few days. She has been throwing up since Thursday (Sept 21), unable to keep any water down, and unable to eat. She is very lethargic and not her usual loving, excitable self.
My mom took her to the emergency vet yesterday (Saturday, 9/23) where Mia had an x-ray done and was given fluids & anti-nausea medication. The x-ray did not show any signs of intestinal blockages or other obvious injuries. We took her home for the night and unfortunately, she continued to vomit last night and was even more lethargic this morning.
My mom took her back to the emergency vet this morning. Her bloodwork and urine came back normal (just showed dehydration, which we expected). They decided it would be best to keep her overnight to monitor her and give her the necessary fluids and medication. She will have an ultrasound tomorrow to make sure there are no blockages or injuries in places that would not be shown by the x-ray.
We are all incredibly scared for Mia and very stressed about the cost of these medical treatments. The first day at the ER cost over $650. My brother had to apply for a pet credit card for today and tomorrow's treatment which will be a minimum of $1900 more. We still don't have any answers. None of us are currently in a place to cover this huge financial burden. Mia has never been sick before and is young enough that we're still hoping to have many more years with her.
We greatly appreciate donations of any size. If you are unable to donate at this time, please share this post to increase engagement. 100% of the funds raised here will go towards Mia's medical bills and any medication she may need.
Thank you so much in advance. We deeply appreciate the love and support we've gotten over the past few days, and we ask that you continue to send Mia all of the loving and healing energy that you can.
Love,
Erin, Sully, Brendan, Michael, Colleen, & Mia ❤️
