Miah Sophia is my sweet and loving 13 year old lab mix.

Today I took her to the vet, she wasn't feeling well. The doctor did some tests and revealed that Miah has a tumor on her spleen. Despite a bit of nausea, she is in good spirits and continues to eat and drink.

Our options are euthanasia, keep her comfortable or surgery. The doctor said, even at Miah's age, she is a good candidate for surgery.

I don't feel like euthanasia is an option. She is eating, drinking and still pretty playful (even when she has an upset tummy). I can't in good conscience euthanize a dog who is still doing all the dog things. I don't like the idea of keeping her comfortable and risking the large tumor rupturing and causing severe pain in the quick ways it can.

I know it may seem selfish to some. But my sweet old girl also deserves a chance.

So I've opted for surgery and it is scheduled for Monday. I am waiting on the surgery estimate but expect with her age, the tumor location, and other factors that it will be a tough pill. I don't like asking for help because I'm a proud fool and would rather suffer in silence usually. But please help my Miah. She deserves better than I can do on my own right now. We need your help. ❤
