Mia Pesola
Donation protected
Mia Pesola age 13 was in a horseback riding accident on Thursday June 7th, 2018 at her favorite riding venue waiting to do what she loves most, barrel racing. As she waited to enter the arena her horse became antsy and overly excited & flipped over backwards on top of her.
Mia was taken to Munson Trauma Center by ambulance, then after assessing her injuries, which include lacerated liver, fractured hip, and two broken ribs. She was then flown by helicopter to Helen DeVos that same evening, arriving about 1:00 a.m. Her liver is the main concern and being monitored to ensure no more blood is being lost. It has been fluctuating, but stable.
Monday June 11th, 2018 Mia has a bile leak in her liver and possibly her gallbladder is damaged, she may need surgery. They will be preforming a endoscopy on her today via throat to check liver and stent bile ducts that have ruptured as well as drain her stomach of excess blood and bile.
Mia is going to have a long road to recovery. Each and every donation matters. Please, help this young family with some of their expenses. They are currently staying with Mia at Helen DeVos away from their home near Traverse City. (Expenses may include co-pays/deductibles, hotels, travel expenses, time off work, childcare for their two young boys-ages 1 and 3.)
Mia and her loved ones appreciate all the love and prayers being sent their way.
Mia is an amazing loving compassionate kindhearted young lady she has worked hard to fundraise and hold bake sales to raise money to save horses from unfortunate circumstances. She rescued and named her favorite horse Promise, which is just one of the horses she has worked hard to save! Mia would love to one day start her own horse rescue and name it "Neverland Horse Rescue" she is a very determined individual and I have no doubt she will succeed in eventually creating her own horse sanctuary.

Squeeze all those babies tight tonight and give thanks to God!
