Help Mia live her life again; TPLO surgery.

Things aren’t going as planned.

The good news is I have a decent down payment amount between greatly appreciated donations, and I am matching it from my Savings.

The remainder I can hopefully get through CareCredit, about $4,500…

I feel utterly nuts on that amount for my dog, but she’s more than just my dog! She goes everywhere she can with me, I’ve raised her since 8 weeks old. She’s my girl Mia just turned 7 in April, she’s got a lot more years left in her ♥️

Meet Mia.. a seven year old purebred American Staffordshire Terrier.

She loves going for car rides, walks, slow sniff strolls, adventures, all the things. Oh, and can’t forget about the occasional zoomies! Anyone that knows my girl falls in love with how loving she is, all the kisses & hugs a person could ask for.

On 3/17/25 we went for a long walk, and per usual, we let her free to get her zoomies and explore the park. Unfortunately during her take off she tore a ligament, the CCL, which can be compared to a humans ACL. Knee injury. She also got a puncture wound on the pad of her paw, same injury side. After weeks of knee pain, and paw surgery and healing she was able to bear weight back on the left foot.

But, we are still left with the main injury - her CCL ligament. The past few weeks I’ve seen her pain increase, and mobility decrease at times. I’ve exhausted everything I can do for her myself, so we consulted with Skylos today, 6/3/25. I went for a consult to see if there was ANYTHING else I could do non-surgical.

Well, the answer is no. Due to the fact that she is not a little 20lb ankle biter - she’s a 60lb athletic, heavier dog. More weight needs to bear.

I tried to prolong surgery as long as possible because it is absolutely not cheap. So I’m here to reach out for any help possible Mia may be able to receive. For the love of my girl I have to do it. I want my dog back. I miss her. I hate to see that she can’t run, jump, go for walks, she can’t jump in/out of the car anymore. She’s just uncomfortable. I cannot let her live this way any longer.

So at the end of the day, my 4 legged best friend needs surgical help. She’s scheduled for 6/16/25, and I need to finance $6,000. I need to find where I can pull, and place money for Mia in the next 10 days.

Anyone that is willing to assist me, I am only asking for half of the cost in help. I keep low expectations as everyone has bills, everyone has something going on.. this is just my biggest problem at the moment
