Months have passed since the deportation of Alejandro’s parents, and the time since has been challenging as he not only has to focus on school and work, but he also has to take care of his younger brother. Alejandro must find a way to bring normality back into his life while juggling these new responsibilities.
My Name is Felipe Silva-Madriagl, and I'm currently a third year film major at Cornish College of the Arts, and once I graduate, I plan on pursuing a career in the film industry.
For the past few months now I've been developing a story about the children of immigrants dealing with the aftermath of their parent's deportations. My goal with this film is to bring awareness to the struggles many young Mexican-Americans face once their guardians are forcibly removed from their home.
My overall goal for my career is to be a strong voice for the Latino community. My biggest inspiration so far has been Edward James Olmos. I strive to be a creative like him as well as an activist.
Why should you donate?
By donating to this campaign, you'll not only be supporting awareness to the issue, but you'll be supporting young indie-local filmmakers. Filmmakers whose goals are to create works of art that not only reflect the reality of their individual lives but to share stories that often aren't shown to the public. Any kind of donation to this film would show support to these causes.
where will the money go towards?
The money will go towards providing my crew of hard woking young filmmakers, food temporary housing. It will also go towards gaining permits for beautiful locations, and finally, it will go towards making the film look the greatest it can be.
Any amount of donations that gets me closer to my goal would be greatly appreciated.
