To save his leg and his health.
A battle that we can't fight alone
Hello everyone, my name is Alondra Gomez and today I come to you with my heart in my hand to ask for support for my cousin, Carlos Josue Medina who lives in Venezuela.
After a femur surgery, the situation became seriously complicated. My cousin was diagnosed with Chronic Osteomyelitis in his left femur, a deep infection in the bone caused by a very resistant bacterium called Pseudomonas sp.
The current situation:
Almost 2 years ago he had to undergo an emergency surgical cleaning and the withdrawal of previous medical material, since then it has been one battle after another against the infection. Currently, it is under an extremely rigorous treatment scheme that includes:
High-potency antibiotics: Intravenous and oral medications such as Meropenem and Linezolid, which are expensive and long-term use.
Specialized care: Daily healings with sterile materials, constant nursing assistance and a specific diet to strengthen your immune system.
Control studies: Magnetic resonances (MRIs) with contrast and biweekly laboratories to monitor the progress of the infection.
Why do we need your help?
The road to full recovery is long (we estimate several months of treatment) and medical costs have exceeded our family possibilities. Every grain of sand counts to cover the medicines, sterile medical supplies and specialized tests that Carlos needs to not lose the mobility of his leg and recover his life.
How can you support us?
Donating: Any amount, no matter how small it may seem, brings us closer to the goal.
Sharing: If you can't donate, sharing this link on your social networks and WhatsApp groups helps us reach more hearts.
My cousin is a cheerful, hardworking, young person who has a lot to live for. We don't want an infection to stop your dreams.
With all my heart, thank you for your solidarity and your prayers!
