My father, a tireless warrior, is now facing the hardest battle of his life. After bravely fighting cancer, he is currently in a coma due to a severe infection that is damaging his vital organs. Every hour, every minute, every second is crucial to his survival.

In Guatemala, during life-or-death situations like my father’s, hospitals require full payment upfront before providing specialized treatment. There are no exceptions, no extended deadlines — if we cannot cover the medical costs immediately, the procedures that could save his life are simply out of reach. It’s a system where financial means determine who gets a chance to survive, turning hope into a privilege that many families cannot afford.

My father has always been my hero, my guide, my rock. He taught me the value of hard work, the importance of honesty, and above all, to never give up in the face of adversity. Today, it’s my turn to prove that I learned those lessons — by fighting for him just as he always fought for our family.

I’ve never been one to ask for help. I’ve always preferred to be the one reaching out to others in their time of need. But today, with humility and an open heart, I ask for your support. For my father, I would do anything — even set aside my pride and ask you to stand with us in this critical moment.

Mi padre, un guerrero incansable, está librando la batalla más difícil de su vida. Tras enfrentarse valientemente al cáncer, ahora se encuentra en coma debido a una infección severa que está afectando sus órganos vitales. Cada hora, cada minuto, cada segundo es crucial para su supervivencia.

En Guatemala, en situaciones de vida o muerte como la de mi padre, los hospitales exigen el pago por adelantado antes de proporcionar tratamientos especializados. No hay excepciones, no hay plazos extendidos—si no podemos cubrir los costos médicos inmediatamente, los procedimientos que podrían salvarle la vida quedan fuera de nuestro alcance. Es un sistema donde la capacidad económica determina quién recibe una oportunidad de sobrevivir, convirtiendo la esperanza en un privilegio que muchas familias no pueden costear.

Mi padre siempre ha sido mi héroe, mi guía, mi roca. Me enseñó el valor del trabajo duro, la importancia de la honestidad y, sobre todo, a nunca rendirme ante las adversidades. Hoy me toca demostrarle que aprendí esas lecciones, luchando por él como él siempre luchó por nuestra familia.
