I am Taneisha Whittingham. I am an organizer creating this fundraiser on behalf of Christina Campbell Ennis, my childhood best friend, and other families in my hometown of Petersfield, Westmoreland, Jamaica, who have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa .

Orlando (Husband) testimonial:

We once enjoyed our days playing outdoors with our son in our home. However, when Hurricane Melissa hit, it destroyed everything we owned and our house. We are now located in a shelter at the Petersfield High School. I remind my family that "our house is destroyed, but my home is where we are together." We are on a mission to rebuild our house and the home we once created. Help us remake a home for our son Matie. He is a young, energetic dog lover who enjoys playing outdoors and watching Reading Eggs and Lucas and

Friends. We have lost everything that was once a comfort, but we find comfort in the love and generosity of each other. We once served the community as we operated a small cafe in front of the Petersfield High School, which supported our family and served their community, now completely lost as well, and the goods and equipment were stolen, leaving us with nothing. But we are resilient.

Now while staying in the shelter, we focus on developing our son as life continues, and he met a friend name Foxy a shepherd wolf dog that keep him engaged and occupied under these extremely difficult conditions.

During this time of disaster I have learned two things: that times like this carry out the best and the worst in people, where love and generosity compete with greed and lack of empathy. I hold fast to the notion that generosity and love must prevail.

Our Goal

We hope to provide for the basic needs of the Ennis family and others who are urgently need. The extented vison is repair and rebuild their homes as power, water, and communication lines are gradually restored.
