My name is Debbie Blair, I live in the United States and I am helping my friend Som, who lives in Kathmandu, Nepal, to raise funds to provide surgery for his son, 5 1/2 year old Zenus Chhetri. The surgery is very expensive and Som is unable to provide this necessary surgery for his son without assitance. Please help them!
Som and I became friends through a common love of birding, as he leads birding, wildlife and cultural tours to Nepal, India and Bhutan.
Young Zenus has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, Haryaba, India to await surgery. He has hydronephrosis on his left side. What is Hydronephrosis? A condition that typically occurs when the kidney swells due to the failure of normal drainage of urine from the kidney to the bladder. Hydronephrosis isn’t a primary disease, but a secondary condition resulting from some other underlying disease. It’s a structural condition that is the result of a blockage or obstruction in the urinary tract. It seems that Zenus has a congenital obstruction that is causing this problem, which requires surgery. Removal of the obstruction is essential for the kidney to return to normal functioning. Surgery provides a 95% chance of full recovery.
The funds raised through the fund will be used to pay for Zenus' surgery and reqired medicines and follow-up care.
Zenus is currently in the hospital awaiting surgery, which will be provided once the necessary funds are raised.
Zenus and his family have been through so much, including the earthquakes in Nepal. They have perservered and Zenus' father Som has such an amazing outlook on life and nature. I want to see this family get through this ordeal and get back on the track to recovery.
This campaign means so much to this family and I am so thankful that GoFundMe provides this amazing platform to get the word out about needs such as this one. And am so glad there are so many people who care and try to help. I thank you and Som and his family thank you!
