On September 8th 2024, in Great Falls, MT
Jake Kraus was brutally attacked by a group of criminals. Jake was walking home from a concert at the Newberry downtown, when he was walking by City Bar when he was attacked. Jake was pushed to the ground, and then the attackers repeatedly stomped on his head leaving him for dead after trying to rob him. The medical personnel who transported Jake thought the wound was a penetrated wound, or gun shot wound because of the severity of the bleeding and damages to his head.
What was supposed to be a night to remember celebrating Jake’s wife’s birthday quickly turned to a life changing tragedy. Jake and Chrissy were out for a birthday celebration enjoying a peaceful night. Jake started home when he got attacked in the alley behind the City Bar, downtown Great Falls, MT. Jake is currently in the ICU with a brain hemorrhage resulting in a traumatic brain injury. He has limb function but it’s undetermined the level of cognitive function he will have when he awakens from being in a medically induced coma. He hasn’t been able to come off of medical sedation due to the level of violence from the offenders and his brain needing rest for healing. It was reported that Jake’s brain injury wasn’t going to be survivable.
We ask for prayers and any help you may be able to provide to his wife and son. Chrissy, who is a nurse herself at Benefis, needs to be there for her husband and she quickly ran out of saved PTO being at the hospital by Jake’s side
Bills will continue to pile up and it’s important to help relieve some of the stress so she can be there for Jake and not worry about having to be at work. We thank the good samaritans for helping call the police, helping locate suspects, and the help for our beloved friend, husband, father, family member.
