Support Joe Meehan's Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

Let me tell you about my friend Joe Meehan. Joe is the funniest guy I know; king of the one-liners. He is such a positive person that you always come away feeling better and happier after spending time with him. To know Joe is to love Joe. He doesn't have an enemy in this world. Joe is thoughtful and kind. He always puts others before himself. Joe is the "there's nothing to see here folks, move it along guy." He doesn't want any kind of a fuss made over him. His greatest joy and love in life is for his family and friends.

Unfortunately, friends, Joe is in for the fight of his life having recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to his spine. To offset medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help pay for home care aides, which is an out-of-pocket expense, we are hopeful Joe's friends and surrounding community will rally around Joe to help him fight this battle. Joe has helped feed Horseheads and the surrounding areas for many years, being a long-time employee of Picnic Pizza at Arnot Mall and Village Plaza. If you ever had a slice at one of those locations, chances are Joe made it.

Joe was at first opposed to having a GoFundMe, but the realization of having the ability to hire help that could give his family a break from providing care turned the tide and he was then agreeable. Anything you can do, whether it be a contribution, words of encouragement, or sharing this post, would be immensely appreciated. As Joe is currently in Skilled Nursing Facility receiving rehabilitation he requested his stepdaughter April Lee temporarily manage the funds.
