Jay's fight against Lung Cancer

Hello, my name is Morgan King and I am writing this on behalf of my father, Jay King. My father was born and raised in Aurora, IL along with his 12 siblings, with my father being the youngest. My Dad admitted himself into Mercy hospital due to breathing issues on July 31st, 2023 and he was officially diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer on August 7th, 2023. The cancer has already spread to his thyroid and to parts of his brain; the first step of treatment will be to get some radiation therapy going for the lesions on his brain. Once that treatment is completed, he will need to go through multiple therapies to help fight off whatever he is able to at this point. My Dad is very limited as to any physical activity that he can do right now due to the Lung Cancer including simple everyday tasks that need to be taken care of. He is currently using an oxygen tank because his oxygen levels drop significantly when he does any physical activities, and simple ones at that. He has lost a significant amount of weight over the past year, too. Unfortunately, my Dad does not have Medical Insurance at this time and recently lost his job due to his medical condition. I am currently working on getting him coverage through medicaid, but as we all know time is not on our side. I am asking for anyone's help, support, and advice at this time as this has been a very hard battle already. Any and all of the funds raised will be used for my fathers treatment, and for transportation to therapy if needed. I will also use these funds for any medications or medical equipment he may need. All of the funds raised will solely be used for my Dad's care during his treatment whether it be for food, treatment, or even possible home health care for when I can't be there for him.
