Hi everyone, its Chad Cohen and I have Chiari Malformation, a debilitating skull malformation that effects the brain and cervical spine. 10 Years ago, I was rear ended, and it caused my brain to get stuck down into my lower spine. I ended up getting my lower spine fused with hardware which left me with severe chronic pain. After the back surgery I was just not getting better. The Chiari Malformation was causing havoc on all different functions of my body. As a result, I went in for my first brain surgery. The plan was to have the surgery and return to my job a few months after. Unfortunately, the surgery failed and a year later I went in for major brain surgery where I had more skull removed, as well as parts of my brain removed as well. I ended up having a stroke and hemorrhage which caused me to have to learn to talk and walk again. It has been the most challenging time on all of us medically and financially as I am now permanently no longer able to work. A few years later and I am again looking at another major brain surgery on December 21st. ( Great timing) This with even more of a difficult recovery. It is not guaranteed 

All this time my Beautiful wife Heidi and our 3 amazing kids, grandma and our 2 furry babies have been by my side helping me with anything and everything you can think of. My wife is my rock and our kids are all trying their best. Heidi is my caregiver and can not leave me alone. She is unable to work because of the situation and believe me she works all day for us. Our oldest has had to take on a more responsible role within the family and all of our kids are excelling in school. Our current house unfortunately no longer meet our needs as the layout is poor for someone with disabilities who uses a wheelchair and/or walker. We can’t do this without your thoughts and prayers. Thanking every single person who has already reached out by phone social media and visits.  My next surgery will be December 21st . We will keep everyone up to date.
