Hi friends! I'm writing to you on behalf of my good friend, Kelly, and her beautiful daughter, Savannah. I think of her as Savannah Smiles (remember that movie from 1982) since she can light up a room with her infectious smile.


I've known Kelly since we were in kindergarden together! I've grown up with her and know her accomplishments and struggles. I won't go into the whole long history of our amazing friendship, but I'd like to tell you about her daughter, Savannah, and her current situation.

Savannah is diagnosed with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy.  Even though Savannah has all the love and support a little girl could ever ask for, she will never sit up or walk on her own. She currently uses an 85 lb. wheelchair her family calls her "big chair". Savannah is now 9 years old and weighs 44 lbs. Kelly takes Savannah to daily doctor and therapy appointments as well as shuttles around her two teenage daughters in the family minivan. She has been asking for help securing an accessible van from Regional Center for 2 years with no results.

I've seen Kelly lifting Savannah into their minivan as she has grown, and also lifting the ever bigger wheelchair into the minivan. This causes a lot of strain and is not sustainable. An accessible van is long overdue.

Kelly has finally found the perfect used accessible van, or rather it found her via a sighting in a friend's neighborhood, so we are asking for your help in the form of a contribution of any amount. The price is $15,000. She has applied to receive the remaining money from a no interest loan.
