Hi, my name is Nickyan Bromfield III.  Many know me as Tre, and my grandparents call me Kyan.  I want to thank you all for your love, support, and prayers.

Since many of you may not know me, I'd like to tell you a little about myself.  I am an eight year old third grader who enjoys reading, time with my family, and I especially love dancing.  A video of me dancing at home recorded by my mother should hopefully be uploaded shortly. As you'll be able to see, I am energetic and enjoy being on the go.  This is especially why my present circumstances are so difficult.  I've been recently diagnosed with Steven Johnson Syndrome, which is a debilitating illness which physically affects me both internally as well as externally,  as you may see from the posted pictures.  It causes blistering and skin loss both inside and outside my body including internal organs.  It is treated the same as someone who has been burned in a fire.  For this reason, I have been flown from my home in Albany, GA to a special burn unit in Augusta, GA to the 'Doctors Hospital'.  I am presently in an induced coma and medically paralyzed as part of the treatment plan to help me cope with pain.   This happened unexpectedly and progressed rapidly.   At best, the medical team states this is the result of a viral infection without knowing the exact cause. 

This all took place just after the start of a new school year.  I started off with very good grades and my teacher was already prepping me to be placed in the gifted program of academic learning.   Of course, now everything has changed due to my medical crisis, but it is not over for me.   There is a long medical journey ahead for both me and my family,  but I'm not giving up.   The medical team feels I am capable of making close to a full recovery,  which means I will dance again,  attend school,  and enjoy all of the same things in life that any others also enjoy.
