My name is Selim and I am reaching out during one of the hardest moments of my life to ask for help for my dog.
About him
Max is a 4 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog and Pit Bull mix and he is more than just a pet. He is my best friend. Before this accident, Max was full of life. He was always running, playing, and overflowing with energy. Seeing him now, injured and unable to move the way he wants to, has been absolutely heartbreaking.
What had happened to Max
He was involved in a serious car accident and he suffered multiple injuries. The most critical is a fracture in his front leg that prevents him from walking normally. He can only partially bear weight on it and is clearly in pain, even while on medication. According to his veterinarians, orthopedic surgery is necessary to properly repair the fracture and give Max the best chance at walking, running and living without chronic pain. He also suffered significant trauma to his face and mouth. His muzzle is currently bandaged and he must wear a cone to prevent further injury. Eating, drinking and resting comfortably have all been difficult. He requires ongoing wound care, medication, and close monitoring to ensure proper healing. As of now, Max is on strict rest at home. He is heavily bandaged, wearing an Elizabethan collar and needs help with even basic movement. Daily care includes managing pain medication, preventing infection, keeping him calm and making sure he does not injure himself further. Watching him struggle when he just wants to move normally has been emotionally overwhelming.
Why I am asking for help
The primary goal of this fundraiser is to cover the cost of Max’s leg surgery, which is critical for his recovery. Funds raised will also help cover essential care such as:
- Follow up veterinary visits
- Medications and pain management
- Wound care for his facial injuries
- Imaging and diagnostics
- Rehabilitation and recovery support
All of this care is necessary for Max to heal fully and have a good quality of life.
I do not have pet health insurance and the emergency care alone has already been financially overwhelming. The cost of surgery and continued treatment is more than I can manage on my own. Without this help, Max risks never being able to walk again (properly) and being in constant pain for the rest of his life.
How you can help
Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward Max’s medical care and his chance to walk again. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page truly means the world and helps more than you know.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Max’s story and for helping my best friend during the hardest moment of his life.
With deep gratitude
Selim
