My daughter was born with Agenesis of the Corpus Collosum (ACC) it is a rare condition where the fibers that connect the left and right hemispheres of your brain are absent. This has made it extremely difficult for her to deal with everyday situations often bringing her much anxiety and stress among other things. After looking up some way to get her any relief from this we landed on getting a dog that became her best friend, Jax. We wanted to get a therapy/service dog but found them to be too expensive or too long of a wait, so we got Jax and it was one of the best decisions we ever made for her. I recently found a training program that will get him trained properly to be a certified therapy dog which we desperately need. While he is a wonderful dog there is training he needs to meet all of my daughters needs. This is why I’m doing this the training is relatively inexpensive compared to what you would pay for a therapy/service dog, but I just can’t afford it at this point. The last thing I wanted to do was something like this, but I can’t ignore that it would greatly benefit my daughter. Seeing the relief he already brings to her and knowing how much more he could do with this training is the reason I’m doing this. Anything helps and I could never put into words what it means to me and my family. Even if you can’t donate thank you for reading my story and if you can donate I am eternally grateful. Thank you.
