Help the Reyes-Ruiz family ¡Necesitamos ayuda!

Hello. My name is Gracie Minks from the Granite Falls Boys & Girls Club and we are fundraising for the Reyes-Ruiz family. Our dear friend Manuel Reyes suddenly passed away on Sunday, March 31st. Anyone who knew Manuel knew him to be kind, compassionate, and devoted to his community. Manuel provided for his family and consistently helped within the community whenever he could.

He was always the light in a room, regardless of his health. Manuel was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, complicated by End Stage Renal Failure. He was on the waitlist for a Kidney transplant and was undergoing dialysis, accompanied by his wife Gabriela Ruiz.

Manuel leaves behind his wife, Gabriela Ruiz, and his children. His youngest child, Samuel Reyes, attends the Boys & Girls Club and participates in our childcare and sports programs. Samuel is such a good boy. He is kind, respectful and lively. He's always offering help to our staff and making jokes with his friends. He, unfortunately, had to witness his father attempt to be resuscitated for nearly two hours before they took his father away. Gabriela walks Samuel home from the clubhouse nearly every day. She does not have a means of transportation without her husband, speaks very little English, and has a part-time job.

We are asking for your help to ensure Manuel has a proper celebration of life and help his family get back on their feet from such a loss. Manuel handled all of the bills, any conflicts, and all transportation. Gabriela is mourning the loss of her husband while going through the hardship of becoming a single mother and we want to do everything we can to make that process easier for her. Right now, we are hoping to be able to take care of the funeral costs. If we can get more for their family, that would be a tremendous help. All donations will go directly to their funeral funds and/or the family.

Update 04-03: We have had a meeting with the funeral home and the total service would cost $10,999. Obviously this is a lot to ask, but anything helps. We have been able to set them up with food deliveries from the food bank and have had several people offer transportation services for this family. We appreciate all of the support.

Mi nombre es Gracie Minks de Granite Falls Boys & Girls Club y nosotros estamos recaudando fondos para ayudar a la familia Reyes-Ruiz, el día domingo 29 de Marzo por la noche recibimos la terrible noticia que el señor Manuel Reyes había fallecido, calquiera que lo llego a conocer sabe que el señor Manuel era una gran persona con un corazón enorme y un padre y esposo amoroso y ejemplar, el era el pilar de su familia el señor Manuel era y sera recordado como la persona alegre y siempre dispuesto a ayudar a su comunidad.

El señor Manuel era la persona que siempre nos podia alegrar nuestro día con su personalidad y con su tan querida presencia, el señor Ruiz parecía de diabetis tipo 2, al igual que complicación renal etapa terminal, el señor Ruiz estaba en una lista de espera para un transplante de riñón y estaba actualmente pasando por diálisis por las complicaciones en su salud su esposa Gabriela Ruiz siempre lo acompañada a sus citas y a cualquier cosa que el necesitara ella siempre ah sido el apoyo del señor Ruiz. El señor Ruiz lamentablemente ah dejado desamparado a su esposa y así hijo Samuel de 9 anos. Su hijo Samuel actualmente es parte de el Club Boys and Girls y es parte de los deportes y actividades extracurriculares que ofrecemos el estar aquí lo hace ser parte de esta gran comunidad que poco a poco hemos creado y de esta manera tuvimos el gran placer de conocer al señor Manuel y a su esposa. El señor Manuel era el pilar de su casa, el señor Manuel era el encargado de la economía de su casa, La señora Gabriela se encuentra totalmente desamparada ya que ella no sabe manejar y solo cuenta con un trabajo de medio tiempo y solo habla lo básico del ingles.

Estamos pidiendo su ayuda para poder cubrir los gastos funerales y para poder ayudar a la señora cubrir los gastos básicos de su hijo y así hacer este procesó tan doloroso un poco mas fácil para la familia Reyes-Ruiz. El señor Manuel era el encargado de cubrir todos los gastos de la familia y con su fallecimiento deja un gran peso económico para la señora Gabriela.
