Some of you may know Ginger's story... but if not, here is a shorter version of it! Ginger is a 7 month old golden doodle, who has been through so much adversity during her life! At 6 weeks old, Ginger got Parvo from the farm she stayed at... Me and my boyfriend, Zach, worked to pay for this. We have contacted the breeder to get financial help with the Parvo, but they were, unfortunately, not willing to help any. Ginger lived, so we were extremely thankful for that. Fast forward to 10 weeks old, Ginger all of a sudden became blind... Bizarre! We got testing done, blood work, exams, and we figured out Ginger got a RARE fungal infection that has infection her eyes, causing blindness. We have gotten through this, praise the Lord, but it was not cheap.. at all. But, nonetheless, we’re thankful that Ginger is alive (and SO, so happy.. any one who meets her comments on how happy she is!)
So here we are at 7 months old, and our world is rocked again today. We had an X-ray of her spine done, and it showed Discospondylitis- an infection of one of her vertebral disks. We are going to have to get a spinal tap sample done, have that cultured, and be on medications for a while to treat the infection... we will have to travel out of state to have this testing done. I am a new graduate nurse and Zach is still in college, who is graduating with a degree in building science this year. The vets say that this infection is treatable, but the tests and traveling and meds will not be cheap. Ginger is our whole world and deserves to live a long, happy life. The amount of love and joy this pup radiates is over the moon, and she amazes us every single day. If we get several smaller donations of even $5, it would make a world of difference to Ginger and us. I am so thankful, in advance, for all of the love and support we feel from everyone. Ginger is the STRONGEST dog with the biggest story, and I think this is why she has such a big heart!
