We are Magnify Tokyo, a ministry founded last year by Jonathan Ogden, a Christian singer from the UK, and Philip Shibata, a singer with Japanese roots. Their strong love for Japan led them to gather several singers for a recording session in May, which became the catalyst for this ministry.



This year, our CCM album has been completed, and from late August to early September, we plan to visit the UK with several young Christian singers. We are seeking donations to cover the cost of flights and event participation fees for this trip.

For these young singers, aged 18 to 20, this visit will provide a significant opportunity for growth both spiritually and musically. The experience will be invaluable in their future worship activities in Japan. Additionally, this tour will connect them with Christian creators in the UK and Europe, potentially leading to future collaborations that glorify God.


As you may know, Protestants make up only 0.4% of the population in Japan (JRM Report 2017), making them a significant minority. The average age of pastors is 62, and church attendance averages 20 to 30 people. In this context, opportunities for young people to grow in faith and stand as singers are extremely precious.



Since the establishment of Magnify Tokyo last year, we have been blessed to realize many dreams. Our gatherings have brought together people who love Jesus, praising Him and desiring the expansion of His kingdom. Through worship and creative activities, we aim to provide hope and encouragement to both non-believers and young Christians in Japan.

We humbly ask for your support for these young Christians with incredible gifts and passion.




Tour Details
Participate in David's Tent: 72-hour event of prayer and worship. We dream of hosting a similar event in Japan someday.
Serve in Churches: Serving at Japanese churches in the UK and local congregations.
David's Tent Creative Collaboration with Magnify Studio: Events with Jonathan Ogden and other members.

Content Creation: We will deliver vlogs from our trip.

Collaboration Shoots: Considering collaborations with members of Magnify Studio.

Tour Leader: Yoshihisa Nakamura
-Director of CALM and FaithTech, Director of Magnify Tokyo. Born in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture,
-Active in various creative fields, founding several startups and Christian Tech communities.




Tour Assistant: Daichi Mitani
-Videographer.
-Studied at a music university and is currently active in a children's praise ministry, composer, and video producer.




Gospel Singer/Songwriter: Cherish
-20 years old, born to a Filipino missionary father and a Japanese mother.
-Started her career at 17 and participated in the Magnify Tokyo album produced by Jonathan Ogden.




Gospel Singer/Songwriter: J Rio
-18 years old, Cherish's younger brother. Known for his powerful voice and relatable lyrics.
-Selected as the youngest singer in the worship group Encounter, leading gatherings with Lauren Horii.

私たちはMagnify Tokyoという団体です。英国出身のクリスチャン歌手Jonathan Ogden氏と、日本にルーツを持つ歌手Philip Shibata氏により昨年設立されました。日本への強い愛情から、彼らは5月に複数の歌手を集めてレコーディングセッションを行い、これがこの団体の出発点となりました。
