this fundraiser is for my best friend / cat Riku.

He’s about 6 and a half years old,

he frequently struggles with urinary crystals and urinary blockages and is currently having another blockage.

this can kill him within two ish days if untreated if he’s unable to urinate.

with a blockage - he is completely unable to urinate. His bladder begins to fill, which leads to pain and nausea. That alone, will slowly destroy his kidneys if untreated which is part of what could kill him.

im at the vets office as I type this, they drained his bladder for the mean time but

they informed us that the best course of action to prevent this from happening again is getting him PU surgery (Perineal Urethrostomy surgery )

I’ve raised him since he was basically a new born and we’re both attached to each others hips.

as someone who struggles severely with depression, Riku has been the only thing that kept me alive through my hardest times over the last 6 years.

He quite literally stopped me when I struggled with thoughts of suicide.

He was there for me when nobody else was. We understand each other like nobody else does. He gets me through everything life throws at me.

he is quite literally my best friend and I just don’t want him to struggle anymore.

I don’t want to see him in pain anymore.

this is like his 4th or 5th time being blocked and we want this cycle to end for him so he can live a long and happy life.

this surgery would significantly reduce the chances of him getting blocked again and significantly reduces the chances of being put in a situation where he needs EMERGENCY surgery that we cannot afford. Once it’s either “surgery now or not” it’s basically either get him this same surgery, or put him down.

PLEASE help me save my best friend and give him the long life he deserves.

the cost of the surgery is an estimate, we included the high estimate just in case it does come to that much. We will gladly refund any extra proceeds once his surgery cost is covered!
