We are writing to you about a medical matter concerning our daughter, Thais who was born April 15th, 2012 with a very rare condition called C.A.H – Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. This condition does not enable her to produce the steroid hormone - cortisol that is essential for life, health and vitality. It also does not enable her to retain salt that is very important for the body.

Thais is currently on medication - Fludrocortisone & Prednisolone that she has to take for the rest of her life. To date there have been twenty cases in Trinidad and two hundred in the United States.

After a long search we have sourced and spoken to a specialist surgeon, Dr. Rafael Gosalbez who works out of the Urology department at both, Miami Children’s and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Miami, USA. He is one of the foremost Paediatric Urologic surgeons who can perform the surgery Thais needs because of this rare condition. Her surgery is carded for April 2015. You may be well aware that medical expenses can be very expensive and are hereby humbly seeking financial assistance to offset some cost. The quoted amount for the surgery is Fifteen Thousand, Five Hundred dollars US$15,500 plus other expenses which amounts to approximately One Hundred and Eight Thousand, Five Hundred dollars TT$108,500.00.
