Help Us Achieve Our Dream of Parenthood

My wife and I have been married since May of 2024, but we've been together since June of 2019. In the past year, we've been trying to get pregnant but haven't been able to conceive. It was suggested to us by our doctor to go to a fertility specialist, with our ages also playing a factor as well. The doctor laid out the statistics to us and recommended IVF right away, but that costs well over $40K and insurance doesn't cover any of that, seeing as we live in a state where health insurances don't have to add that onto their policy. The only thing our insurance did cover was IUI treatments (which there was still an out-of-pocket cost for each and every treatment). The doctor recommended up to 4 treatments of IUI, and if unsuccessful, then switching gears to IVF after. We were both very hopeful and excited going in. The 1st treatment was unsuccessful and we were both disappointed, but we still had 3 more tries at it. After the 2nd one didn't take, we asked the doctor if this was normal and he said the numbers were all good, and levels were where they should be, so he was still hopeful that this would work.
During all of this, my wife had to take different types of hormone pills before and after insemination and also something called a trigger shot right before ovulation. At one point, we had issues getting the trigger shot medication that can only be mailed and has to be kept cold. Also, there was a problem with her health insurance at the beginning of the new year and we had all the stress and anxiety of trying to fix it. We weren't sure if we were going to get the medication on time. We ended up driving over an hour and a half away to just pick up the shot in person so she could take it in time.
On the 3rd one, we thought for sure we got pregnant since my wife was very behind on her period and we even bought an in-home pregnancy test to take just before the blood test she would take the next day to find out if she was. Unfortunately, it was "not pregnant." We were devastated; the phone call from the clinic the next day confirmed that she wasn't. I've never seen my wife so upset. After that, we were almost ready to take a pause on this, but we pressed on because time is a factor in all of this. We did one more round and again, numbers looked good and so did the follicles, but again, nothing took. We spent the whole day reeling and crying.
After that, we had a serious decision to make. We started doing research beforehand with IVF and with her being the age she is, they recommend at least 2 cycles of IVF treatment, and 90% of the medications are going to be paid for out-of-pocket as well. Financially, it would be extremely expensive. We also looked into several places that do IVF treatment and they are all about the same as far as price. We even looked into any grants that were out there and unfortunately, we wouldn't qualify for any either due to location or the nature of them. We sent out some quotes for some loans and we wouldn't qualify for even close to the amount we would need for this. This has been a whirlwind journey of so many emotions. We really want this to happen, and having a child would mean the world to us. We are looking for any help we can get through all of this.
